Participation in the fishing examination is possible for persons over the age of 13 after attending a course comprising at least 30 hours of instruction in preparation for the examination. Due to the limited number of participants, applications for admission to the fishing examination can only be submitted in person or by a parent or guardian to the lower fisheries authority of the Börde district, Bornsche Str. 2, 39340 Haldensleben, from 19 August 2024 after making an application reservation by telephone.
The number of participants is limited to 60, taking into account the capacity of the examination venue.
Applications for admission to the fishing examination must be submitted in person to the lower fisheries authority by 20 September 2024 at the latest. Later applications cannot be considered. When submitting the application, the examination fee must also be paid. The examination fee is EUR 60.00 for adults and EUR 30.00 for young people up to the age of 18.
A preparatory course is mandatory before the fishing examination, which is also possible online in "online presence courses" and "self-study courses", each with a subsequent practical day, in addition to the previous "face-to-face courses". Proof of participation in the respective course programme must be provided to the fishing authority. Approved courses can be found at www.fischerpruefung.sachsen-anhalt.de.
The fishing examination consists of a written and an oral part. The written examination covers the following main subjects: fish science, water science, equipment science and law. The oral examination covers behaviour while fishing, handling fishing tackle, caring for caught fish and legal knowledge.
