Approximately 30 km west of Magdeburg, near the town of Oschersleben, rises, slowly rising from the lowlands, the wooded hilly landscape " Hohes Holz".
The 1,500 hectare forest area with the adjacent Sauren Holz and its foreland is designated as a landscape conservation area. At the northern edge of the forest in Eggenstedt rises the Aller river, which feeds its water to the Weser.
The "Hohe Holz" gets its special charm from its good tree and plant population. It is also impressive to observe the change of flora in the different seasons. Very interesting is also the newly created nature trail, which gives extensive information about life in the forest.
