Day of the public health department on 19 March

The district of Börde hosted a medical training course for the first time on the occasion of the Health Authority Day on 19 March. 44 doctors took up the invitation and used the event to learn more about the effects of climate change on the human body.

Under the motto "Climate change and health", important topics relating to the effects of climate change on human health were discussed.

Experts from various areas of the public health service (ÖGD) had their say as part of the training programme. The following topics were covered in a series of specialised presentations:

  • "The power of heat - effects on human health and prevention measures" (Magdalena Schäfer, LAV Magdeburg)
  • "Effects of climate change and globalisation on vector- and rodent-associated infectious diseases" (Dr Carina Helmeke, LAV Magdeburg)
  • "Travel medical advice and climate change" (Dr Constanze Gottschalk, LAV Magdeburg)
  • "As a doctor in the paediatric and youth medical service - (not) just a reserve option for paediatricians ...?" (Dr Matthias Magnus, Magdeburg Health Department)
  • "The psychiatric emergency and PsychKG" (Dr Ulrich Sandmann, Ameos Clinic Haldensleben)

Poster presentation

In addition to the presentations, the event also offered a poster presentation on various topics relating to the public health service, including

  • "ÖGD - the 3rd pillar in the healthcare system"
  • "The dental service in the public health department"
  • "Health at a glance - the JÄD"
  • "Tuberculosis - what now?"
  • "Acute psychiatric crisis"
  • "Hygiene and environmental medicine"
  • "Drinking water for all - centralised supply"
