Strong young talent: district signs contracts with dual public administration students

From 1 September 2024, Justus Kaßmann from Staßfurt and Esther Kunkel from Samswegen will begin studying Public Administration in the Börde district. The dual study programme comprises 7 semesters and is carried out in cooperation with the Harz University of Applied Sciences at the Halberstadt campus.

In 2018, the Börde district sent two young people to the Harz University of Applied Sciences for the first time to complete a dual study programme in public administration. The dual study programme combines theoretical training at the Harz University of Applied Sciences with internship phases in various offices in the Börde district and in a state authority. "We have a duty to meet the retirement of the boomer generation with far-sighted personnel decisions," explains District Administrator Martin Stichnoth. "By combining the dual training components, the aim is to facilitate a seamless transition from university to work," says Stichnoth. The dual students gain in-depth insights into actual administrative work during their studies and are actively involved in day-to-day tasks.
