At the beginning of the meeting, Mr Jürgen Kebernik was elected Chairman of the District Seniors' Council. In his new role, he will represent the interests of senior citizens in the Börde district and work to ensure that this population group has a strong voice at a political level. District Administrator Martin Stichnoth presented the certificates of appointment to the new members of the District Seniors' Council and recognised their commitment and willingness to stand up for the interests of the older generation in the Börde district.
The election of the chairman was followed by the election of the other board members. The members present elected six committed individuals from among the members of the District Seniors' Council. The newly elected board members are Mr Klaus Czernitzki, Ms Siglinde Falke, Mr Jürgen Kebernik, Mr Ulrich Körber, Ms Sylke Kühling, Mr Michael Schekatz and Ms Erika Tholotowsky.
The District Seniors' Council will continue to play an important role in the further development of the social and community infrastructure for senior citizens in the district in the new electoral term. The district of Börde is looking forward to the constructive cooperation and the valuable impulses that the District Seniors' Council will continue to incorporate into its political work in the future.
