The content of the event was the updating of the school plans of the district and association municipalities. These are part of the Börde district's school development plan, which is based on the 2022 school development planning ordinance.
The biggest challenge here is the fluctuating number of pupils, which makes concrete and reliable planning difficult. The information event was intended to contribute to a dialogue on the topic with those involved and to ensure the legal certainty of the planning.
District Administrator Martin Stichnoth and Head of Department Ms Friederike Hecht welcomed the planning authorities of the municipalities in the Börde district as well as the invited speakers from the Ministry of Education and the State Education Authority.
"The information event is intended to provide practical preparation for the challenges of implementing the 2022 School Development Planning Ordinance," said Ms Corinna Döring, who is responsible for school development planning in the Börde district. She is responsible for this topic as a staff unit in the Office for Education. "We want to involve the municipalities belonging to the district as the responsible bodies for primary schools and a community school as early as possible and inform them about the legal situation. After all, they draw up the school plans for their area."
In order to ensure a regionally balanced and efficient range of publicly funded schools, the school plans and the school development plan of the Börde district must always be updated immediately if there are sufficient reasons to change the existing plan, but at least every five years. If there are sufficient reasons for updating the school plans, these must be adopted by the municipal councils in accordance with the ordinance. According to the Saxony-Anhalt School Act, the district is responsible for updating the school development plan and this is decided by the district council in accordance with the ordinance.
