The 10 participating companies and their trainees were presented and introduced at the kick-off event on 4 March 2025. 9 of the 10 companies come from the Börde region, with Hydro Wacht GmbH & Co. KG having its headquarters in Gerwisch in Jerichower Land. In addition to a warm welcome from District Administrator Martin Stichnoth, the trainees from the Börde district also presented their "Börde Base" project, which was developed last year. In addition to lunch with pizza and donuts from the Nitzschke bakery in Calvörde, a trainee workshop was also held to gather initial ideas.
As part of a six-month running phase, the trainees are now looking for digitalisation
digitisation opportunities in their company and work with their supervisors to develop suitable plans for independent implementation.
From now on, the focus will be on discovering and developing new digital solutions - in order to optimise processes in companies and thus make them more customer-friendly or more economical. According to the Börde district and the RKW Competence Centre, everyone involved benefits from the programme: "The Digiscouts' projects not only improve work processes, which bring benefits for customers and company employees, but also put training in a new, more attractive light for future skilled workers," emphasises Nancy Krehl, an employee in the Office for Economy, Tourism and Culture at the Börde district. As "digital natives", the trainees are generally very interested in using digital solutions and, as part of the project, are not only expanding their digital skills but also their social skills and are also identifying even more strongly with their training company.
The 10 Digiscouts and the companies are accompanied by the RKW Competence Centre, which initiated the project throughout Germany. "We provide our own tool with knowledge modules for the individual trainee projects and support the entire process from the kick-off to the final event," explains Sonja Müller, Head of Skilled Labour Supply. Another plus point: coaches check the economic viability of the project ideas and support the trainees and their companies digitally and on site in the Börde district.
The first results will be presented and introduced at the final event in autumn.
