Both concerts were an impressive testament to the skill and passion of the school's young musicians. The programme was opened by the clarinet ensemble under the direction of Mr Uwe Blamberg, whose precision and harmony laid the foundation for a successful evening. This was followed by the mixed ensemble under the direction of Mrs Vera Kagan, who delighted the audience with their variety and expressiveness.
The charming Hannah Meyer in Wolmirstedt and Claire Sophie Riecke in Haldensleben not only led the audience through the programme in a confident and likeable manner, but also accompanied them through the entire "Nutcracker" suite with a fairytale-like narration. Their stories linked the musical pieces in a magical way and made the evening a special experience for listeners of all ages.
Within the suite, the audience was able to enjoy well-known and popular melodies such as the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy", the "Dance of the Reed Flutes", "Trepak" - Russian Dance", "Chinese Dance", "Arabian Dance", the "Pas de deux" and other famous pieces from Tchaikovsky's masterpiece. The performances of the various ensembles and orchestras brought these timeless melodies impressively to life.
The crowning finale of both events was the famous "Waltz of the Flowers", performed by the large school orchestra. The long-lasting applause - in the packed auditorium and church hall - was the well-deserved reward for the outstanding performance of all those involved.
The district music school's Christmas concerts were not only a musical highlight, but also a sign of appreciation for the young talents who are shaping the future of the music school with their enthusiasm and dedication.
