This is why the Saxony-Anhalt State Association for Health (Landesvereinigung für Gesundheit Sachsen-Anhalt e.V.) held a kick-off event yesterday to present the project "Let's be mindful! Strengthening the mental health of pupils", which will be implemented by IKK gesund plus at all 25 secondary schools in grades 5 and 7 in the Börde district.
The Head of Education, Youth and Social Affairs, Friederike Hecht, opened the event on behalf of the District Administrator and emphasized the importance of the project in order to further develop the school environment in terms of health.
The project is based on the results of the Saxony-Anhalt HBSC study on children's and young people's health, according to which children and young people are increasingly suffering from mental stress.
Measures aimed at strengthening the personal development and independence of learners as well as social interaction are geared towards the needs of the schools, for example. However, topics such as (cyber)bullying or alcohol and drug prevention will also be addressed.
