The deployment of additional personnel and the more technological reorganization of the construction sequence made it possible to significantly reduce the overall construction time. This includes, for example, extending the individual closure time at the Colbitzer Straße / Bauernweg traffic circle.
The reason for the construction work, which began in September 2022, was the dilapidated condition of the road, which was rated 4.5 out of 5 possible points by the digital road recording program Vialytics. With over 8,600 passing vehicles and over 600 trucks per day, a corresponding renovation was necessary.
The construction work was carried out by the construction company ITB Schönebeck. In addition to the district of Börde, the town of Wolmirstedt (ancillary facilities, lighting and greenery) and the WWAZ (wastewater and rainwater drainage system and drinking water pipeline) were also involved.
The district invested just under 2 million euros in the basic expansion over a length of approx. 400 meters, as well as the expansion of the footpaths and cycle paths on both sides. The road surfaces of the two adjacent traffic circles were also renewed. The last remaining work, such as the installation of traffic signs, is still being carried out.
