The agenda for the district administrator Martin Stichnoth, the representatives of the district and the mayors present was full to bursting. After Jörg Mether, mayor of the municipality of Sülzetal, welcomed all participants, numerous topics that move people in the region were discussed:
Among other things, the district administrator informed about the 1st honorary office gala of the Börde district, which will take place this evening, and which is primarily intended to honor the voluntary work of the people in the district-wide associations. He also highlighted the school social work in the district, which makes an important contribution to the well-being of students in all types of schools and strengthens togetherness. This needs to be supported even more strongly.
The local politicians regard the challenges surrounding the settlement of Intel as a joint task. The focus is on optimal preparation for future requirements in terms of attracting skilled workers, creating living space, providing areas for suppliers, and much more. Everyone agrees that such a large-scale settlement can only be achieved by joining forces.
Other topics included a bicycle traffic concept for the Börde district as well as environmental protection and sustainability. A corresponding action plan is currently in the works and brings together ideas on how the district can be made even greener and more sustainable.
Overall, the regular meeting between the district administration and the mayors was once again proof of the importance of cross-town and cross-community cooperation.
"The open discussions and the willingness to find solutions together testify to a strong sense of community," emphasized District Administrator Martin Stichnoth during the consultation. "Citizens can be confident that municipalities and the district administration will continue to work hand in hand to further develop and strengthen the region."
The next meeting between mayors of the Börde district and the district administration will take place in December and will be hosted by the Elbe-Heide municipality.
