On the joint warning day of the federal and state governments, the aim is to check whether the warning systems are working properly throughout Germany. This is done by a test alarm at 11:00 am.
What can be expected on 14.09.2023?
11 a.m. Warning of the population
- All sirens in the Börde district will sound for 1 minute with an ascending and descending wailing tone. In the area of Barleben, the city of Oschersleben (Bode) and the city of Haldensleben, the sirens will give additional warnings by voice announcement.
- Warning applications for cell phones and tablets, such as NINA and KAT-Warn, are provided with a test message by the national warning center.
- All cell phones will receive a message (cf. SMS) of a test message via cell broadcast.
11:45 a.m. All-clear signal for the population
- All sirens in the Börde district will sound for 1 minute with a continuous wail. In the area of Barleben, the city of Oschersleben (Bode) and the city of Haldensleben, the sirens will give the all-clear by voice announcement.
- Warning applications for cell phones and tablets, such as NINA and KAT-Warn, are supplied by the national warning center with a test message for the all-clear.
- No all-clear is given via cell broadcast.
What do I have to do?
You do not need to do anything except check your accessibility for possible warnings. Perhaps you are not yet using a warning app. This can be downloaded to your cell phone via the respective app stores. Recommended here is the free app NINA published by the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance.
