Replacement of a school building at Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium Weferlingen 39356 Weferlingen, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 2

On the basis of the directive on the granting of subsidies to improve the school infrastructure of financially weak municipalities (Directive on School Infrastructure), the Saxony-Anhalt State Administration Office, on behalf of the federal government, handed over a subsidy notice to the Börde district for the replacement of a new school building at Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium Weferlingen in the amount of 5.7 million euros. The new replacement building is to replace the previously used and aging system buildings (buildings B+C) and to remedy the existing structural and functional deficits. A three-story building with 25 modern classrooms with the necessary preparation, technical and sanitary rooms, as well as a teachers' room will be built. The school building meets the latest technical standards, and all rooms will be accessible without barriers after completion. The structural work will begin in November 2020, and the overall construction project will be completed by 2022.

The total cost of the new replacement building is estimated at €7.7 million, with the federal government providing €5.7 million in subsidies and the district contributing around €2 million of its own funds.

After completion of the replacement building, the main building will be structurally and functionally renovated and optimized so that modern rooms for the school and administration will also be created here. The system buildings will be dismantled after completion of all construction measures. These measures will be financed from the district's own funds.
