Target group of the GPV

The target group are mentally ill, mentally handicapped, addicted or at risk of mental illness/addiction. The GPV is particularly concerned with the care of the severely and chronically mentally ill with complex support needs.

Objectives of the GPV

  1. The aim is to ensure that people with mental illnesses who usually live in the Börde district receive comprehensive care that is close to home and tailored to their needs.
  2. Improving the transitions between inpatient, day-care, outpatient and complementary care plays a central role in this.
  3. The integration, inclusion and participation of people with mental illness in society, the education system and working life should be improved or made possible.
  4. Close cooperation between the network partners should optimise the use of existing resources and adapt the care structure to changing needs. Prevention in the areas of mental illness, mental disabilities and addiction is also to be supported. In addition, the reduction of stigmatisation of mentally ill people is to be promoted and public understanding for mentally ill people is to be fostered.
  5. The assistance and services offered by the GPV-BK should be transparent for those affected, relatives and providers of other assistance. Cooperation with the representatives of people with mental illness/addiction and their relatives in the GPV-BK is expressly desired in the concrete planning and organisation of help. The right of those affected to self-determination must be respected in all assistance.
