The director of the Kurt Masur Music School in Oscherleben has developed it into an institution with supraregional appeal and is unmistakably associated with the cultural scene in the Börde district. He is particularly committed to the musical education of children, for example at the "Jugend musiziert" competition for young musicians.
Also Dr. Marcus Waselewski, alderman of the administrative district Börde, did not miss the opportunity to thank the new commitment ambassador in the name of the district administrator and the entire district administration.
In order to make the voluntary cultural commitment of citizens in the state better known and to promote the possibilities of personal commitment, the state of Saxony-Anhalt has been appointing commitment ambassadors for the cultural sector since 2013. These are citizens who are voluntarily engaged in the cultural sector, for example in museum work, in the library system, in the preservation of traditions and local history, in socioculture, in cultural education or in the field of promoting music and literature.
We hope that Bernd Hohmann will continue to inspire many young people to get involved in culture and especially music in the state.
