Landkreis Börde - Office for Fire, Disaster Control & Rescue Services - Subject Area Fire and Disaster Control, FTZ

The central tasks of the department are the protection of humans, animals and the environment against hazards and the elimination of hazards and damage caused by fires, accidents, explosions or natural events (measures of hazard prevention).

In this context, the following focal points in particular are handled by the district:

• Performance of the supra-municipal tasks of fire protection and assistance
• Execution of the basic and advanced training of the members of the voluntary fire departments on district level and the coordination of the national training
• Establishment and maintenance of a fire department technical center for the maintenance and testing of vehicles, equipment and material
• Advising and supporting the unitary and association municipalities in carrying out the tasks assigned to them under the LSA Fire Protection Act
• Checking the performance and operational readiness of the volunteer fire departments of the unitary and association municipalities
• Formation of units for special operations as well as the establishment of disaster control units and facilities
• Designing appropriate preparatory measures for effective disaster response
• Realization of civil defense tasks according to the Civil Defense Act
