County Policy

The actors of the district policy are the democratically elected, honorary members of the district council and the district administrator.

According to the Local Government Constitution Act of Saxony-Anhalt (KVG LSA), the district is responsible for public tasks in its area that are of supra-local importance or whose expedient fulfillment exceeds the administrative or financial capacity of the municipalities and association municipalities belonging to the district. It supports the municipalities and association municipalities belonging to it in the fulfillment of their tasks and ensures an appropriate equalization of the municipal burdens.
