Training as an Emergency Paramedic (m/f/d)
The Börde district offers sound training as an emergency paramedic with a guarantee of employment upon successful completion of the final examination.
Training structure and content:
- Training duration: three years, consisting of theoretical and practical instruction and practical training / training begins on September 1 of each year.
- the training ends with a state examination
- Theoretical and practical training takes place in state-approved schools.
- the practical training takes place in the training rescue station of the district Börde and at suitable hospitals
- The school bears overall responsibility for the organization and coordination of theoretical and practical instruction and training in accordance with the training objective.
During the three-year vocational training is enabled to carry out the following tasks independently:
- Determine and record the situation at the scene of an emergency and immediately initiate necessary general measures to avert danger
- Assess the state of health of sick and injured persons, in particular recognizing a vital threat, deciding on the need to call in an emergency physician, additional personnel, additional rescue equipment or other medical assistance, and implementing the necessary measures
- Carrying out medical first aid measures for patients in emergency situations and applying measures learned and mastered in training, including invasive measures, in order to prevent a deterioration of the patient's situation until the arrival of the emergency physician or the start of further medical care if a life-threatening condition is present or significant consequential damage is to be expected
- deal appropriately with people in emergency and crisis situations
- Establishing and securing the ability to transport patients in emergency situations
- Selecting the appropriate transport destination and monitoring the medical condition of patients and its development during transport
- Proper transfer of patients to further medical treatment, including describing and documenting their medical condition and its development.
- Communicating with persons, institutions or authorities involved or to be involved in the operation
- Carrying out quality assurance and organizational measures in the rescue service and documenting the emergency medical and tactical measures applied
- Ensuring the operational capability of the rescue equipment, including observance of and compliance with hygiene regulations and legal occupational safety and accident prevention regulations.
Tasks within the scope of participation:
- Assist in the medical emergency and acute care of patients in emergency operations
- independently carrying out measures ordered by a doctor on patients in emergency situations
- independent execution of medical measures, which are specified, examined and answered for by the medical leader rescue service or accordingly responsible physicians with certain emergency-medical condition pictures and situations standardly
- Cooperate in a patient-oriented manner with other professional groups and people at the scene of the emergency, during transport and during handover, taking appropriate account of the overall situation from individual medical cases to major emergencies and disasters

Requirements profile:
- health suitability to perform the job and
- intermediate school-leaving certificate or other equivalent school-leaving qualification, or vocational training of at least two years' duration successfully completed after a lower secondary school-leaving certificate or equivalent school-leaving qualification
- police clearance certificate without entries
- driving license class B or even class C 1
- age of majority
- completed internship in rescue service or hospital desirable

If the requirements profile is met, suitable applicants will be invited to an interview, where they will have to answer questions about their motivation and the job description of an emergency paramedic. Those who reach the next round of the selection process will be invited to a trial period in the emergency medical services.
